Hey, I'm Amanda
I work with mothers stuck in survival patterns their insight can't override.
I show you how to give your body a different lived experience.

"Body armoring is the embodied suppression of emotion, manifesting as chronic muscular contraction that blocks both the expression and experience of emotion." Wilhelm Reich
Your body is holding what wasn't safe to express.
I've been working with women and mothers for over ten years.
I'm a trauma-trained transformational nervous system and somatic coach, and a trauma-trained Myofascial Energetic Release bodyworker.
In my work, we discover how your body was shaped by the environment it grew up in, slowly forming patterns of muscular tension to hold back emotional expression that wasn't welcomed.
This is body armoring.
Your stiff neck, blocked throat, tight chest, rounded shoulders and lower back ache aren't random. They're patterns of protection that began in childhood, carrying the emotional baggage you packed away because emotional expression wasn't safe.
Claire, London
“I felt more in control as I have something I can turn to when I feel overwhelmed or stressed. This has had a positive affect on my responses with my children, my husband and my work role. I've felt I've been able to connect more and I’ve felt warmer, more loving feelings more of the time.”
My Story
Hi, I'm Amanda.
I operate in that uncomfortable space where therapy, Instagram advice, and “just breathe" stop working — and instead I go straight for the body: fascia, nervous system, emotional patterns that refuse to shift no matter how self-aware you are.
I've not only done thousands of hours of training in my profession, but I've also lived what I teach.
- I’ve transformed a two-decade substance abuse struggle into a life I’m deeply proud of—and I’ve been sober for 10 years.
- I left my marriage, and built a beautiful co-parenting relationship and genuine friendship with my ex-husband because I was willing to accept the difficult truth and work through the discomfort of splitting rather than stay in a long-term broken, resentful relationship.
- I've come out as a late-in-life lesbian and through emotional intelligence, compassion and energetic work helped my Southern Catholic family understand, accept, and embrace my relationship.
- And perhaps one of the most profound transformations has been my relationship with my father. I’ve reshaped the way my body and nervous system respond in his presence so I can show up as the functional adult I am today, rather than automatically reverting to the wounded child I once became. The anxiety and tension that used to take over are no longer running the relationship. Instead, I’m able to lead, model, and create an adult relationship with him.
My history in a nutshell
My diaphragm locked by age three. Holding my exhales in a freeze state became protection. By eight, my shoulders had rounded. Every time I saw my grandmother, she'd tell me to "stand up straight."
In my early twenties, I became a chronic jaw clencher.
Soon followed years of uncomfortable ear pressure.
Both hung around for decades.
I learned at a very young age that when my body said no, and my anger asked me to push back, talk back or hold a boundary, the outcome for me wasn't good, so I shut down my anger. I went numb, escaped, withdrew.
ARE YOU SIMILAR?
You might have explosive anger because no one was able to contain it for you, so now you get triggered and it spills out. Or maybe like me, you went the other way. Either way, the pattern is the same.
In my work, we address the muscular tension and the emotional holding patterns together because chronic pain, tension and even many long-term conditions are rarely just physical.
Like Eckhart Tolle says: "Where there is pain, there is anger underneath it."
MY WORK
I work with mothers who've done enough talking.
You know the holding pattern is in your body now.
You understand why you people-please, why you avoid conflict, why over-working or perfectionism makes you feel seen.
I support you to work at the level where the armoring is actually stored.
Fascia and nervous system.
Get out of the story and into the body.
That's where somatic freedom lives.
I work with mothers managing trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, difficult relationships, life events like divorce, late diagnosis, body tension and discomfort.
The need varies.
The work is the same.

I was really pleasant to be around, but these patterns kept me small, without a voice or agency.
I had to reshape the nervous system patterns that kept me codependent, avoidant, and disconnected from my own power — patterns rooted in the freeze response I developed as a child.
I worked on my core — I had to reclaim the part of me that knew who I was and what I wanted, rather than defining myself through what other people needed or expected of me.
I put agency back into my legs, which held a long story of failure and weakness. Our legs give us the energy to move toward what we want instead of staying stuck in what feels familiar.
And I worked to activate my throat center and speak my truth. I learned to express what I really felt instead of swallowing my words because good girls don’t talk back.
That changed how I showed up in my relationships. I could leave my marriage, and lead the way for our family to stay as one family in two homes.
I could challenge my dad’s beliefs, a man who I have been anxious around my entire life, without making his approval influence how I lived my life.
You can disappoint people, challenge what they believe about you, and still build strong relationships that are rich and meaningful.
You can reshape yourself, stand in your truth AND keep the people you love.
❤️🔥The Body Bank❤️🔥
Your identity is shaped by your survival patterns.
Inside The Body Bank, we unwind the tension and behaviors underneath them — people-pleasing, perfectionism, over-giving, control and how the body holds those patterns by clenching back what you really feel, holding hte burden of everyone on your shoulders, feeling unsupported in your lower back.
We reshape your nervous system, so you can trust yourself, find the courage to speak your truth, and have the agency to go after what you want.
❤️🔥We begin Friday, October 30th.
5 weeks. 5 Belts of tension.

It’s not just your thoughts making those decisions.
It’s your body
You develop a physical shape to protect those behavior patterns.
👁️I can see it in your shoulders when you carry the burden of everything, your tight neck when you're being inflexible, your clenched jaw when you're trying not to feel and shallow breathing when you're avoiding what you really want in life.
💎Holding those patterns for decades takes muscular tension and force — like holding an inflatable ball underwater. Imagine how hard that would be after 10 minutes — are you going to want to calm breathe. No, because you’re too charged up!
Which is why calm breathing and nervous system regulation don’t always work for everyone.
🌀Nonlinear movement breaks familiar patterns. As your spine spirals and your pelvis grinds, you give your nervous system new inputs and begin unwinding the patterns that are your inflatable ball under water: keeping the peace, swallowing anger, over-extending, putting everyone else first.
For mothers, this means more choice in how you respond when your child pushes every button, when your husband shows entitlement, and holding your no when you mean it.
The Body Bank
Join me to release physical tension, and emotional patterns, and reshape your body and behaviors, in a way that your therapy session and yoga class can’t touch.

Those experiences became physical patterns in your body, and this is why you fly off the handle with your kids or your partner when they load the dishwasher wrong.
But your jaw tension isn’t just about your jaw.
Your jaw is connected to your pelvis, so when you couldn’t speak or clenched your jaw to hold back anger, your core (pelvis, psoas, diaphragm) was already responding.
Your protective patterns — withdrawal, rage then collapse, pleasing, freezing — are organized through the core. From there, your body mobilizes, speaks, moves, breathes or contracts.
The Body Bank is where we work with how tension, stress and emotion move through the body.
Join me to release physical tension, process emotions, and repattern your behaviors and chronic tension in a way that your therapy session and yoga class can’t touch.
Then, you’ll be so damn stable in yourself, the fear of saying the wrong thing, puting your needs first, doing the thing you’ve wanted to for years just flows out of you!

1. Jaw: you’re furious about the text thread with your husband because he’s letting you down again, but you ‘let it go’ and get on with it. Instead, you grind out what you really wanted to say in your sleep that night.
2. Shoulders: a client messes you around, and instead of allowing yourself to be annoyed that you’ve been manipulated and now have extra work to do, you riff with Claude about how to bulletproof this next time. By the end of the day, your shoulders are slouching and rock hard from holding the weight of it all.
3. Chest/anxiety: you finally get an hour to yourself. You take 38 of the 60 minutes. Palms sweaty the whole time.
4. Core: someone asks how you are, and you say you’re fine, even though your heart is racing and chest is tight. Because if you stop, it might all fall apart. So you tighten your core and soldier on.
5. Neck: you can explain exactly why someone behaved the way they did. You understand their childhood, and offer grace. But when it comes to acknowledging how your behaviors are impacting the relationship, you stiffen at the neck.
Your behaviors emerge from your body’s state, but you’ve become very good at calling it personality.
🌀You want to hold problems more lightly, and you want to drop the weight from your shoulders — but since you were 10, you’ve been the one your parents and siblings look to to fix things — and that’s a hard pattern to shift.
❤️🔥Your identity is a tendency that emerged from your survival state.
That’s what we’re exploring inside The Body Bank, beginning this Friday 30th 🔻🔻
An intimate online space where we unwind tension patterns and the behavior patterns underneath them: pleasing, controlling for certainty, never stopping, procrastinating, playing victim, the good girl, the over-giver, the over-achiever, the perfectionist.

The jaw is a perfect example. It sits at the intersection of expression, breath, voice and stabilization. You don’t wake up one day and decide to clench your jaw. Your body has adapted to your emotional life, environment and movement patterns in ways that once felt useful or protective.
Eventually, those strategies become habitual.
Which is why you can reach a ceiling in talk therapy, or leave your osteopath feeling great, only to find yourself back where you started a few weeks later.
❤️🔥 THE BODY BANK ❤️🔥
An intimate online space to explore the emotional deposits of your life and how they show up as physical tension and conditioned behaviors: anger in your jaw, resentment in your lower back, responsibility on your shoulders, grief in your lungs.
Through body-based practices, including fascial movement and breathwork, you’ll begin to unwind these patterns, build core stability and create more space to move toward the life you want, for you and your children. 🌟
Inside, you get:
* 5 weeks of live, 60-minute online classes every Friday, starting October 30th
* Monday audio drops to support your process between classes
* A private Telegram group
* A specially curated playlist

And also, fight doesnt equal aggression — fight means to move towards something with power.
It’s charged and the charge can be fierce, it can be strong, it can be assertive AND that charge can have such a truth to it, such a knowing it makes the anger HEARD.
Connected anger.
It’s your life force energy.
There’s a difference between fight as aggression and fight as a life force.

You complete an emotional cycle that was interrupted...
Your anger that was too big, so you got shut down. Your opinions that were too loud, so you stayed quiet for safety. The mistake you were shamed so deeply for that becoming a perfectionist became your survival 🔻🔻
When an emotional response can’t be fully expressed or processed, the body adapts with physical tension patterns and behaviors.
Your muscles contract to hold it down. The fascia and nervous system organize around what you learned you had to contain. And from that emerges the good girl, the procrastinator, the over achiever, the pleaser.
Eventually, the pattern is so habituated, you think it’s just you.
But it’s not. It’s body armoring and adaptation.
This is why working with the body can process childhood wounds that talk therapy can’t.
It’s about processing and completing through your voice, tears, breath, movement — so the 10 year old part of you can finally complete the NO you wanted to say but didn’t dare because good girls don’t talk back.
And then — your jaw unclenches, your breath becomes more expansive, your shoulders drop from ears, your lower back softens.
Your body is a bank holding the emotional deposits of your life.
The Body Bank coming soon.

You think, my jaw is killing me.
You don’t think, I’ve never felt safe taking up space.
You think, my hips are always so tight.
You don’t think, there’s grief I never got to move through.
You think, why do I keep getting chest infections.
The body remembers what the conscious mind has adapted to.
This is The Body Bank.
Your body holds the emotional deposits of your life - and sometimes those deposits show up as the tension, pain and physical patterns you’ve been trying to fix for years.
The Body Bank ❤️🔥
Coming soon.

☸️ How have you been containing anger, fear, grief and how is that impacting your hormones?
☸️ How have you been moving through life with urgency, anxiety, hyper-vigilance and how is that impacting your gut?
☸️ How has your body developed physical ways of holding all of that in, down, together, and what is that doing to your breath and jaw?
Because it’s all part of the same story in your body.
I’m working with a woman who came to me with IBS/Histamine issues, already knowing that the physical was also emotional.
Yesterday, she discovered there was more than bloating in her stomach — she found that’s where her anger had been deposited.
When she sensed the anger, she stayed with it, followed that anger up into her throat, where words that she’d been waiting to say for years finally formed:
"Fu**ing c**t."
A stress response, impulse, expression that had been sublimated for years was finally able to move through and complete.
Maybe this is the first step towards easing the IBS and histamine symptoms that brought her to me in the first place.
This is the work I do — looking at the symptom, then looking underneath it.
What has the body been holding?
What emotions have been contained?
What never got to be expressed?
Your body holds the emotional deposits of your life.
The Body Bank.
Coming soon.

And even after all those hours talking about your narcissistic mother, that story is still alive in your body — in how you breathe, stand, compensate, lock down for control, clench in frustration.
Because shrinking yourself isn’t just emotional.
You learn to make yourself smaller in your body, keeping it quiet and contained so you don’t say or do anything that might trigger a reaction. That’s where my rounded shoulders came from.
And when you’ve spent decades living like that, the pattern becomes so familiar that you think, this is just how my body is. So you buy mouth guard after mouth guard and still wake with tension headaches.
In my work, we run the story through the body.
We find where those unfinished responses — the impulses that weren’t safe to express — are still being held, so we can witness them and allow them to complete.
A client of mine was telling me how, when her daughter gets angry, she can speak to her in the same way her ex-husband did, and it feels like a dagger to the heart.
But she can’t express what she needs to in those moments with her daughter, so she holds it back, and her body holds it too, through muscular tension and discomfort.
Yesterday, while she was telling me the ‘story’, I stopped her and we went to the feeling of the knife in her heart.
She stayed with the sensation. It brought sadness and tears, and the stress response that had been interrupted in real time was able to move through and complete in that moment.
That’s the work I’m interested in — not just understanding the story, but finding where the story is still happening in the body.
This is what I mean by The Body Bank.
Your body is a bank holding the emotional deposits of your life — when you had to swallow what you felt, hold yourself back, stay quiet, keep the peace or make yourself smaller.
Your tension isn’t random. It’s part of the history your body has been carrying.
The Body Bank.
Coming soon.

The jaw is a perfect example. It sits at the intersection of expression, breath, swallowing, voice, orientation and stabilization. You don’t wake up one day and decide to clench your jaw for the next fifteen years. Something in your emotional life, environment, posture, movement history or nervous system made that organization useful. Eventually, the strategy becomes habitual.
Through my Inner Roots framework, we explore the relationship between physical tension and emotional expression. We look at how your body has adapted — how something like holding your breath might be connected to your rounded shoulders, and how both may relate to the state of your nervous system.
Then we repattern, slowly and safely, by giving the body different experiences and different input.
Where do you hold your tension? Jaw, neck, shoulders, chest, stomach, lower back, hips, knees or feet?
Tell me in the comments or come and find me in my DMs. Let’s talk.

But the chest closes in, breathing gets shallow, the head drifts forward, the neck starts overworking and the jaw clenches for stability. The face can end up subtly contracted all the fucking time from the tension coming up from the body.
So those little folds around the brow, sucking in the cheeks, clenching the jaw start to become tension lines that sit there even when you’re not consciously making the expression.
Your fascia adapts to how you hold yourself repeatedly — even in the face.
Maybe Monday is when you finally give yourself permission to release what you’ve been carrying.
